My first Osprey pack is leaning against the wall next to my desk, and I had to glance at it for a mere moment to be taken back to a handful of wonderful journeys the pack and I have been on. A staple of the outdoor industry, Osprey has grown from just packs to other aspects of outdoor travel including luggage.
Two packs are being released for the 50th anniversary, the ARCANE large-day pack and the Hikelite 26. Both packs are black, feature a simple design, and showcase the special anniversary tag on the lower portion of the bag.

Initial Impressions
Of the two 50th anniversary packs, the Hikelite 26 is clearly better suited for being out on the trail. The Arcane pack looks like a great pack to take to the airport, or for use while traveling through a city. It does feature some things that may be included in Osprey’s new camera bags that I’m excited about.
The Hikelite 26 has the hipbelt, compression straps, and red loops at the bottom that you’d normally see for trekking poles, but in this case you could clip a pee cloth, or a hat while not in use.
The red accents are a great addition, making these packs look fancier.
